Six time Uganda Premier League champions Express FC have named new signing Enoch Walusimbi as their new club captain.
The club head coach Wasswa Bbosa is optimistic Walusimbi's leadership skills prior to his current club will help him lead his fellow players at Express FC.
On their Facebook page, they confirmed this appointment: "#ExpressNation the skipper is non other than Enock Walusimbi #Elcapitano. #MukwanoGwabangi🔴🦅"
This he had to tell the club website: “Enock Walusimbi has been a captain everywhere he’s played a feat that speaks volumes about his leadership qualities. The technical team therefore felt the need to select him. Lucio” will be deputised by goalkeeper Mathias Muwanga and youngster Desmond Kaneene as the third choice captain. The latter captained the junior team and was promoted to the senior team at the start of last season."
The towering center back who will Don shirt 15 takes the arm-band from former Club captain Disan Galiwango who left for Vipers. Enoch Walusimbi has also been the captain of his former Club Soltilo Bright Stars.
Last season, Express FC finished 9th with 31 points from 9 wins, 4 draws and 12 losses and are preparing for the 2020/2021 season which is slated for next month.
Their preparations have seen them recruit new players like Ibrahim Kayiwa, Denis Otim, Chrispus Kusiima, Richard Bbosa, Godfrey Lwesibawa, Abel Eturude, Isaac Nsengiyunva, Mustafa Kiragga, Charles Musige, Mahad Yaya Kakooza, Baker Sakah, John Toki Byamukama, Dennis Mubuya and Charles Musige.
