Just a week into the transfer window, reigning Uganda premier league champions Vipers SC have today Tuesday 7th July, 2020 recruited another star in Jamil Kaliisa and the third signing this window. The former Bright Stars midfielder had a year remaining on his contract at his former side and now rejoins his former coach Kajoba Fred.
At his new home Vipers, Kaliisa has penned a four deal at St. Mary's stadium. He joins Fred Kajoba who was his coach at Bright stars. The tactician truly understands who Kaliisa is and what he can deliver at the pitch.
Kaliisa was an integral part of Bright stars' stay in the league patterning Janjali Mustafa and August Kacanchu. Bright stars finished 12th last season on 29 points, 7 wins, 8 draws and 10 losses.
Born on 22nd July, 1999, the 21 year old attacking midfielder is a graduate of National Sports Academy who he left for Kampala regional league side Lungujja Galaxy from where Bright stars picked interest in the young star hence signing him.
Vipers are joint fourth on the list of Uganda premier league champions along with URA FC and will be vying for a fifth trophy and also have a showpiece in continental tournament, the CAF Champions League.
Vipers are current Uganda Premier League Champions, winning last season's title with 54 points from 16 wins, 6 draws and 3 losses. The 2020/2021 season commences on 17th October, 2020.
