Sports Club Villa plays in Uganda’s top tier division and are the record league champions having won the title on sixteen (16) occassions.

Nick-named the “Jjogos” locally meaning “Sseggwanga” (a rooster), and “Ssaalongo” leterally refering to a twin father, the club was founded in 1975 (45years old) and it dominated the league for three decades i.e 1980s, 90s and early 2000s.

The club has had three names; they were first called Nakivubo Boys, changed to Nakivubo Villa, and finally to SC Villa Jogoo. They won promotion to Uganda’s top flight football league fours years after their inception.

They brag of the most local trophies in uganda (25) and they became the first Uganda club to win a domestic double in 1986. They won the league on five consecutive occassions I.e from 1986-1990 before going past the feat when they made a record of seven consecutive league championships between 1998 and 2004. They train at Villa park in Nsambya and were part of Uganda’s greatest football rivalry “VEK” which stands for Villa,Express and KCC.

The club has had seven Presidential regimes, Daniel Musoke Kiwalabye(1975 - 1979 ), Patrick Edward Mayengo Kawooya (1979 - Dec 1993), Franco Mugabe (Dec 1993 - July 2010), Fred Muwem (Aug 2010 - Jul 2012), Interim Committee (Aug 2012 - Jul 2014),: Ben Immanuel Misagga (Aug 2014 - Jul 2018), Interim Committee headed by William Nkemba (Jul 2018 - To date).
