Unknown burglars have in the wee hours of Monday morning 27th broke into the residence of dancehall singer Micheal Mukwaya alias Mikie Wine and took off with millions of shillings.
The burglary has went down at around 3am when unknown assailants armed with machetes broke into the "Watya" singer's residence leaving family members horrified as they made off with shs8.2 million that was found in place as pocket money for the victims so as to take them through he lockdown.
Through his socials, the young brother to singer cum politician MP Bobi Wine has stated how they immediately called up Uganda police for assistance after the burglary but disappointingly, the law enforcers not making it in time hence failing to follow up the assailants.
The good news is that Mikie Wine and his family were not hurt and are in a good health condition.
"ITS A SAD MORNING,Today morning at around 3:00am i was attacked by thieves who broke into my house with pangas ......they woke us up and told us to be very silent,they asked for our phones and all the money we had in the house Fortunately they threw the phones at the fence from where they made their exit and took off.
We immediately contacted the police who came about 1hr later with sniffer dogs but they could not trace the scent.They said more investigation will carried on..They took all my money that has been sustaining us in this lockdown and No other valuables where taken..We thank God that no one was hurt bt please keep us in your prayers in your prayers in these trying times.For God and my country. #staySafe
