Uganda Communication Commission has summoned the management of Top Television to hear their side of the story in relation to breaching of Minimum Broadcasting Standards that saw one of their employees involved in an on-air altercation with the reigning Miss Uganda World Oliver Nakakande.

It must be remembered that on the 20th April, Top TV Cocktail morning show hosted by Ms. Joan Lule Nakintu, she lost control and attacked her guest, Miss Uganda Oliver Nakakande following a misunderstanding, an incident that sparked off public criticism.

Following the unprofessional incident on a national TV, a complainant reached UCC showing concern over Top TV unprofessional and impartial news broadcasts citing the "Cocktail" programme that aired on 20th April that propelled the commission to laugh investigations into the conduct of Top Television.

"The complainant alleges that during the broadcast of the show "Cocktail", the presenter or host was unprofessional, failed to meet journalistic principles or ethics and this breached the broadcasting standards as the host of the show, Ms Joan Lule Nakintu was unfair, lacked objectivity and impartiality required of a presenter," stated the UCC AG. Executive Director Irene Kaggwa Sewankambo.
