Less than 24 hours after the Venoms exited the Uganda Cup at the round of 64, the club has gone to its website to confirm as they have relieved the team of its duties.
The club website read; "The club would like to thank Golola and his team for their work during their time at Vipers SC and to wish them success in the future. A caretaker technical team will be appointed until the end of the current season, while the club conducts a thorough recruitment process for a new, full-time coach".
Vipers SC lost 8:7 in post match penalties to fellow Entebbe based side Kajjansi FC after a one all draw in normal time. The result followed a 1:0 loss to SC Villa at St. Mary's Stadium, a second consecutive league loss to the joggos at home. The loss to minor side Kajjansi could not leave the hierarchy contented.
Edward Golola who was appointed on 27th July, 2019 has been at the club for the third stint having coached the Venoms in 2009-2011 and 2014-2015.
He also served as an assistant coach to Portuguese tactician Miguel Da Costa in 2017-2018 and Kenyan Michael Nam Ouma for the six months which the Kenya international coached the club.
His technical staff included Ram Nyakana Mpuga (fitness coach), Edward Ssali (second assistant coach), Mathius Kassagga (physiotherapist) and Moses Oloya as goalkeeping coach.
The hierarchy is to announce the interim coaching staff to run the club till the end of the season as a permanent replacement is sought for.
Meanwhile, Vipers still top the country's top division with 42 points from 13 wins, 3 draws and 2 losses.
