Late Hon. Muhammad Ssegirinya’s orphaned daughter, Nagirinya Shifrah, has been reported missing by her mother, Nanfuka Fatumah since the burial of her Father which has left the young girl's family in panic, with allegations of foul play involving some of the family members.

The incident occurred on the night of January 12th, 2025, following the burial of Hon. Muhammad Ssegirinya in Butale, Kadugala-Masaka. According to Nanfuka, after the burial ceremony had concluded, she ordered her daughter to join her siblings in the bedroom to settle for the night. However, the following morning, when Nanfuka went to check on her daughter, she was nowhere to be found.

A frantic search ensued, but Nagirinya’s whereabouts remained unknown. Nanfuka reached out to the family for help, only to be met with an alarming revelation from the deceased’s mother, Nakajumba Justine. She revealed that she suspected one of the family members who had attended the funeral, along with Kasagga Bosco, the family’s driver, had taken Shifrah.

A distressed Nanfuka claimed that she received a phone call later that night, confirming her worst fears.

The caller reportedly stated that Kasagga had admitted to taking the child and had no intention of returning her. Nanfuka immediately rushed to Masaka Police Station to report the case, and her family began the journey to Kampala in search of answers.

After much pleading and a heated phone conversation, Kasagga Bosco finally agreed that Nagirinya Shifrah would be returned to her mother by the following Sunday. However, the emotional toll on Nanfuka was evident, as she questioned the motivations behind her daughter’s abduction.

I am still Nagirinya’s mother, no matter what they try to do,” Nanfuka said, holding back tears. She added that this was part of a wider scheme by some family members to claim the condolence money that had been collected by parliament in the wake of Ssegirinya’s passing. According to Nanfuka, some relatives had demanded that she hand over the money she had received, causing further tension within the grieving family.
