The National U20 Women football team head coach Oliver Mbekeka has named Shadia Nakya as the new team captain ahead of their U20 FIFA World cup qualifiers match against Tanzania.
Shadia Nankya will be assisred by Shakirah Mutibwa and Juliet Adeke as the first and second assistant captains of this team respectively. The National U20 Women football team is in its first week of residential camping at FUFA Technical Center Njeru preparing for their duel against Tanzania.
Uganda U20 women football team plays Tanzania on Saturday 18th January, 2020 in the FIFA U20 women World Cup qualifiers. The tournament will be hosted by Costa Rica and Panama in August 2020.
This will be the first ever co-hosting of a FIFA youth tournament but the second after the FIFA Men's World cup co-hosted by South Korea and Japan in 2002. The Uganda National U20 women football team will be inspired by the 2:0 win by the U17 national team that beat Ethiopia on Saturday in the U17 World Cup qualifiers.
Its full squad at FUFA Technical Center after the other five players that were at U17 squad also joined the camp in Njeru.
