Vipers SC have today 18th December, 2019 entered their third day of training ahead of the Star Times Uganda Premier second round that is thought to start early January.
Speaking at the awarding ceremony of the best player and coach of the month (November), Uganda Premier League CEO Bernard Bainaman said the speed with which they release fixtures depends on clubs and the FUFA licensing committee.
He added that towards the end of the just-concluded first round, many venues were suspended and therefore it also puts them in a very difficult position to draft second-round fixtures with all these unresolved issues about venues.
Therefore, there remains uncertainty over when the league opens but most probably in January. Vipers SC are three time champions and are looking for the fourth title. They last won in 2017/2018 and finished this season's first round at the top of the table with four points clear if second placed KCCA FC.
Vipers finished the first round with 36 points after 11 wins, 3 draws and only one loss, a 1:0 loss to defending champions KCCA.
