Bebe Cool Moves to Sue Alex Muhangi Over Copyright Infringement Of His Performances

Singer Bebe Cool has threatened to sue Comedy Store Uganda boss Alex Muhangi over alleged copyright and neighboring rights infringement for uploading his performances on his YouTube Channel without his consent.

Through his legal representatives, R.S.K Associates, the Gagamel International singer accuses Muhangi of unauthorized distribution and broadcasting of his performances on NTV Uganda and YouTube, allegedly without seeking consent or making the necessary payments for the rights.

In an official legal notice, Bebe Cool has made several demands, including:

• Immediate removal of all his performances from Muhangi’s platforms.
• A permanent ban on using his content for commercial purposes.
• A detailed report on all revenue generated from the unauthorized broadcasts.

Additionally, Bebe Cool is demanding UGX 579 million as compensation for damages and loss caused by the alleged infringement.

The letter further states that Alex Muhangi has 14 days to comply with these demands, failure of which legal action will be taken.
