Former Bukedde Television presenter Mary Flavia Namulidwa has reportedly returned to Uganda after spending nearly five years in the United States of America. During her time in the U.S., Namulidwa was engaged in casual jobs and managed her own YouTube channel, keeping a low profile while living abroad.
Now back in Uganda, Namulidwa has announced her intentions to enter the political arena by contesting for the Gomba East Constituency seat in Gomba District.
According to Bukedde Television, she plans to run under the banner of the National Unity Platform (NUP), a political party led by Bobi Wine, whom Namulidwa is closely associated with.
Known for her prominent role in Ugandan media, Namulidwa gained significant recognition through her hosting of the popular "Oluyimba Lwo" program on Bukedde Television.
Her return to Uganda has sparked discussions, with many excited about her potential political ambitions and her association with NUP, a party that has been gaining popularity in Uganda’s politics.
Flavia Namulidwa's decision to run for office comes as part of her desire to contribute to her community and make a positive impact, leveraging her influence and experience from both her media career and time abroad.
