National Unity Platform (NUP) President and renowned musician Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, popularly known as Bobi Wine, faced disappointment earlier today when he was unable to visit his long-time industry peer Jose Chameleone at Nakasero Hospital.
Reports indicate that Chameleone, who was recently hospitalized for a critical illness, is currently under close medical supervision and was sedated at the time of Bobi Wine's visit, making him unavailable for visitors.
Sharing the news on his social media, Bobi Wine expressed his concern for the legendary musician, stating:
“Passed by Nakasero Hospital this morning to check on our brother Jose Chameleon, following reports that he is critically ill. Unfortunately, we couldn’t see him because his medical team said he was sedated and not in a position to be seen. We continue to pray for him and wish him a full and quick recovery.”
Though their relationship has been marked by friendly rivalry and occasional public tensions stemming from their careers in music and politics, Bobi Wine’s gesture underscores the bond they share as icons of Uganda's music industry.
Chameleone, who has been a defining figure in East African music, was rushed to the hospital after falling seriously ill. Friends and family have rallied around him, ensuring he receives the necessary care.
Fans and well-wishers continue to pour in their prayers and support for the Valu Valu hitmaker, hoping for his swift recovery.
