Pastor Aloysius Bugingo of the House of Prayer Ministries has opened up about the tragic incident that led to the death of his close friend, Muhumuza Richard, and his own miraculous survival.
In a heartfelt sermon at his church, Pastor Bugingo shared his belief that God made the right decision by sparing his life instead of his friend’s. Richard tragically lost his life in a brutal shooting months ago while he and Pastor Bugingo were driving home.
The two were reportedly followed by unknown assailants, who opened fire on them. While Pastor Bugingo was shot in the back, he managed to survive, while Richard, who was targeted more directly, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Expressing gratitude for his life, Pastor Bugingo reflected on how God’s plan was greater than anyone could understand.
“God knows why He took Richard and left me,” he said. “He knew that Richard’s family would not lack anything except for his presence. And He knew that I still had His word to spread.”
The pastor also emphasized how he is fully supporting Richard’s family, providing for them in ways he believes Richard could not have. He expressed a deep sense of responsibility, saying, “God saw that I would take care of his family and continue spreading His message. That’s why I am still alive today.”
Pastor Bugingo’s words touched many in the congregation, who applauded his strength and gratitude in the face of such adversity.
