Nyege Nyege is back this November from 14th-17th, and this year, it’s diving deep into the heart of Jinja’s culture with a brand-new daytime program called “Nyege In The City” bringing an extra vibe for the day sessions.

While the festival has always been about electrifying music and memorable nights, this unique addition promises festival-goers a whole new dimension of the Nyege experience, offering an authentic Ugandan adventure right in Jinja’s vibrant streets and iconic landmarks.

Running each day until 3 p.m., “Nyege In The City” has been designed to capture the essence of Jinja’s charm and beauty, inviting attendees to explore the city’s hidden gems and cultural richness. From serene Nile River tours to the local markets, cultural landmarks, and scenic outdoor spots, this program gives visitors a true taste of Jinja beyond the main festival grounds. Guided tours, fine dining, and even water-based activities on the Nile are on the agenda, ensuring there’s something for everyone—from thrill-seekers to those looking to soak up local culture.

The daytime excursions allow festival-goers to experience the city while the festival grounds undergo daily security preparations. This thoughtful approach by the Nyege Nyege team highlights their commitment to providing a safe and seamless experience, all while giving attendees the perfect excuse to dive into Jinja’s dynamic cultural landscape. And for foodies, the city’s local eateries will feature curated meals that blend Ugandan flavors with international flair, adding a tasty twist to the festival lineup.

Organizers are eager for visitors to see Jinja through a local lens. “We wanted to give people a more intimate feel of the city,” explained Aly Alibhai, CEO of Talent Africa Group. “Nyege In The City” is about stepping away from the main festival setup and connecting with Jinja’s vibe—from the music to the food, crafts, and scenery—celebrating the best of Uganda’s natural and cultural heritage.

In partnership with Jinja’s city authorities, this new approach brings festival energy to the city’s core, creating unique moments you won’t find on the festival grounds.

Whether you’re hopping on a boat along the Nile, dancing in the streets with local performers, or dining in style under the Ugandan sun, “Nyege In The City” offers an engaging lineup to make each day as unforgettable as the nights.

The guided tours provide insight into Jinja’s historical sites, while pop-up events and street performances add a lively touch, making the city come alive with music, art, and tradition. For adventure lovers, the water-based activities are a perfect way to feel the pulse of the Nile and connect with Jinja’s natural beauty.

There will be performances from social media sensation, Hozambe, Zex Bilangilangi, Pia Pounds, Recho Ray, Kenneth Mugabi, Alidekki Brian, Denesi, and Djs; Alesha, Ssese, Vans, Melvyn Dj, Janja and Faisal.
