Through a deeply personal Instagram post, Daniella Atim has revealed that she has took legal steps to protect herself from her estranged ex-husband, celebrated Ugandan artist Jose Chameleone to an extent of getting a restraining order against him when he threatened her.
Reflecting on her path, Daniella recounted how she "mentally and emotionally checked out" of her marriage in 2016 and began strategizing her exit, even as she maintained appearances for safety. By 2018, she had successfully relocated with her children, embarking on a fresh start in a different country.
Overcoming numerous hardships, including performing multiple jobs to support her family, Daniella's resilience eventually led her to establish stability. She proudly shared milestones such as securing private schooling for her five children, becoming a homeowner in 2021, and pressing charges against those who wronged her—decisions that exemplify her resolve to build a life free from fear.
In 2023, Daniella added another layer of protection by securing a restraining order against Chameleone, underscoring her commitment to creating a safe environment for herself and her family.
With a newfound sense of independence and peace, she encouraged women to prioritize their well-being, courageously acknowledging that while the path is daunting, it's worth taking a leap of faith.
Her message concludes with a heartfelt reminder to women facing similar situations: "Dear Girl Child, I was scared too...my only regret is not having left sooner."
