Singer Ndugwa Deus aka Grenade Official has opened up and shared the challenging experiences he faced under the management of Jeff Kiwa, of Team No Sleep (TNS), saying that he is like a dog to him after making his life a living hell.
Known for his work with major stars like Sheebah, Kiwa quickly added Grenade and Rahmah Pinky to TNS after parting ways with Sheebah. However, what seemed like a promising partnership soon deteriorated.
During a recent interview with Galaxy FM, Grenade described Kiwa as “the worst person” he’d encountered, recounting how the challenges within TNS took a toll on his mental health.
This marks the first time he’s openly discussed the difficulties he faced after parting ways with the label. “Jeff Kiwa made me depressed,” Grenade stated, adding that the struggles even pushed him to experiment with drugs. He attributes much of his emotional hardship during that period to his time with Kiwa, describing the former manager as “the worst curse” in his life.
The split between Grenade and TNS stirred rumors, with some alleging that his behavior and substance abuse led to his departure.
Although Grenade previously refrained from addressing these claims, his latest interview provides a glimpse into the strain and personal impact his experience at TNS had on him.
As he moves forward, Grenade’s story sheds light on the unseen pressures artists may face within the entertainment industry and the importance of mental health and support.
