How Sir Gordon Wavamuno’s Son Joe Kayima Was Found Dead in a Thailand Bathroom

Ugandans are saddened by the news of Joe Wavamuno Kayima’s untimely passing at the age of 57-year-old. The son of billionaire tycoon Gordon Wavamuno tragically died in Thailand, following a bathroom accident just days after his father claiming has never eaten a single loan.

Joe, who had been in Thailand with his wife Doreen for a medical procedure scheduled for Monday, was reportedly found unresponsive in their bathroom at around 3 PM local time. His elder brother, Elvis Wavamuno, confirmed the heartbreaking news, sharing that Joe had traveled to support his wife during her treatment.

Ugandan businessman and politician Mike Mukula was among the first to express his sorrow. Posting on X (formerly Twitter), Mukula wrote, “I am deeply saddened by the unfortunate demise of my friend Kayima Wavamuno (RIP) of Spear Motors Ltd while in Thailand with his family in a bathtub fall.”

Mukula extended his heartfelt condolences to the Wavamuno family, including Kayima’s father, Professor Gordon Wavamuno, his brother Elvis, and the wider circle of friends connected to Spear Motors, one of Uganda’s most prestigious companies.

Joe Wavamuno Kayima had built a solid reputation as a dedicated businessman, often working behind the scenes in his father’s vast empire. Spear Motors, the official distributor of Mercedes-Benz vehicles in Uganda, was just one of the many ventures under his care. His quiet strength and unwavering dedication to his family earned him deep respect within Uganda’s corporate world.
