The family of the late Tamale Mirundi, a prominent political analyst and presidential advisor, is calling on the government to help realize a cherished dream he left behind. Mirundi, who passed away at the age of 60, had a vision of creating a lasting legacy through the construction of Mirundi Plaza, and his family wants to make it a reality.

According to Nantongo, one of Mirundi's daughters, her father often shared his dreams with her.

“He used to tell me about his plans to build a plaza before he passed away,” Nantongo recalled.

Mirundi was known for his outspoken nature and his complex relationship with the government. Although he was a supporter of the government, he did not shy away from critiquing its officials when necessary. Despite this, the family hopes that the government will honor his memory by helping to bring his vision to life.

Nantongo’s heartfelt plea reflects the family's desire to create a significant landmark in their father's memory.

Our father aspired to leave a lasting legacy through Mirundi Plaza. He dreamed of a place that would serve the community with its library, shops, and park. We hope the government will support this endeavor and help keep his legacy alive,” she said.

As of now, it remains to be seen if the government will respond to the family's request.
