Joseph Tamale Mirundi, the 60-year-old political analyst, passed away last night, August 13, 2024, at Kisubi Hospital ICU after a prolonged battle with pulmonary edema—a condition causing fluid buildup in the lungs that severely impairs breathing, but he said he wants his kids to buy his Ghost a brand new car.
Since July earlier this year, Tamale Mirundi had been receiving intensive care at Kisubi Hospital, where his health had progressively deteriorated.
Despite the best efforts of his medical team, he succumbed to his condition, leaving behind a legacy of insightful political analysis and a distinctive personality.
Before his passing, Mirundi made his final wishes known in a uniquely spirited will.
He requested that his residences in Zana, Kabalagala, Kyengera, and his home village each host a two-day vigil in his honor. These vigils, he specified, were not to be marked by somberness but rather by joyous celebrations. Mirundi envisioned events filled with music, food, and a generous supply of alcoholic beverages, reflecting his lively and exuberant character.
Moreover, Mirundi stipulated that his body should not be taken to a church for a requiem Mass. Instead, he wished for prayers to be held at his home, aligning with his desire for a more personal and intimate farewell.
