Hon. Ssegirinya's discharge from the hospital was announced on Friday, with doctors advising him to take a three-month break for periodic monitoring of his condition. In a video message, the legislator expressed his joy and relief at returning home.
"I am very happy that I am discharged and I am coming home," he said, brimming with gratitude. "I inform my people that everything is done; I am coming back…amen!"
The MP extended heartfelt thanks to the leadership of Parliament, which fully covered his medical expenses. He also expressed his deep appreciation for the unwavering support from his party, the National Unity Platform (NUP).
Key figures from NUP, including President Bobi Wine, Secretary General David Lewis Rubongoya, and Leader of Opposition Joel Ssenyonyi, frequently visited him during his treatment, providing much-needed encouragement.
Hon. Ssegirinya also acknowledged the support from his constituents in Kawempe North, thanking them for their prayers and well-wishes. "To our esteemed people of Kawempe, thank you so much for the special duwas and prayers. We commit ourselves to continue serving you diligently," he said.
