Uganda’s legendary Afrigo Band is set to celebrate a remarkable milestone: 50 years of doing music in collaboration with Talent Africa Group,with a grand concert on August 16, 2025, as part of Talent Africa’s Legends of Sound concert series.
Founded in 1975 by veteran singer Moses Matovu, Afrigo Band is the longest-serving and most cherished band in Uganda and Africa. Over the past five decades, they’ve seamlessly blended Afrobeat, Congolese rhythms, jazz, and traditional Ugandan music to create timeless hits that have united generations. This 50th-anniversary celebration is set to honor their unparalleled contribution to the music industry.
Talent Africa’s CEO, Aly Allibhai, expressed the company’s pride in partnering with such a revered institution in African music.
