The famous Oktoberfest is gearing up for its 7th annual celebration, set to take place at Cricket Oval Lugogo in Kampala on October 28th, the highly anticipated event is making a comeback, promising a unique twist this year with a "Drunch" edition.
Oktoberfest, renowned for its beer, food, and festive atmosphere, will return in grand style. Attendees can look forward to a day filled with music, entertainment, delectable food offerings, and a wide selection of beers. The 7th edition is anticipated to be one of the most memorable yet.
Festival organizer Denis Asiimwe introduced the event at a launch held at The Villa in Bukoto. He shared, "This year's Oktoberfest will focus on music, with an impressive lineup of artists. Gates will open at midday, allowing guests to enjoy lunch while being entertained. The concept of 'Drunch' seamlessly combines lunch and drinks."
The festival's headliners include iconic artists such as Jose Chameleone and Cindy Sanyu, alongside the talented Abeeka band. Emerging artists like Kohen Jaycee, Izabel Ug, Ras B Ssali, Dolv Gvng, and Chevank Badcitizen will also grace the stage.
The success of Oktoberfest wouldn't be possible without the support of sponsors such as Nile Special, Brussels Airlines, Stanbic Bank, Galaxy FM, Uvotam, Rx Radio, Ranchers Finest, Radio City, NBS TV, Pepsi, The Villa, The Maze, The Germany Cultural Society, and Sew Bantu.
Aside from the musical and culinary offerings, Oktoberfest will feature beer contests, live performances, and a dress competition where participants can showcase their best Oktoberfest attire, including dirndls and lederhosen. The winner of the dress competition even stands a chance to win a coveted ticket to Europe, courtesy of Brussels Airlines.
With an expanded space at Cricket Oval Lugogo, this year's Oktoberfest ensures ample room for attendees to join in the festivities.
