The chorus of change began when this talented duo, backed by a chorus of their musical peers, handed over their petition to none other than the Deputy Speaker, the esteemed Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa. These amendments aim to hit all the right notes by boosting revenue collection and harmonizing with the rhythms of modern life, all while improving the livelihoods of Uganda's musical maestros.

They also raised a plea for radio and TV stations in the countru to dedicate 90% of airtime to the melodious sounds of Ugandan music. It's a symphonic strategy to nurture local talent and crescendo the growth of the music industry in our beloved nation.

Meanwhile, it should also be noted that this very law UNMF are serenading is already under review by the parliament. Hon. Hillary Kiyaga and his legislative team have been burning the midnight oil, meticulously crafting the amendments that could be music to the ears of many.

For those with a sharp memory, this isn't the first time Uganda's tuneful talents have raised their voices to request more airplay. In a previous verse, they sought 70% of airtime on radio and TV stations. Alas, their lyrical request fell on deaf ears in the operator's booth.
