After months of crying out for Sheebah Karungi and Cindy Sanyu to change their concert dates, singer Mugwanya Michael aka King Michael has succubed to pressure and decided to move his concert date from 15th to 20th September at Lido Beach, Entebbe.
Even though for a while now King Michael has been advertising his concert dates and venue, things went out of control when he ended up on hospital bed.
During this concert, the singer wll be celebrating 20 years in the music industry and he was planning to hold it at Lugogo Cricket Oval.
While appearing on an interview on Spark TV ‘Koona’ on Friday evening, King Michael revealed that it hurts to have invested over Shs160m in booking the venue and advertising for his show only to be forced into changing everything.
He also apologized to his fans for the confusion and called upon them to turn up at Lido Beach come 20th September to celebrate his music journey with him regardless of the shortcomings that have befallen him recently.
"I have faced alot of resistance, this is more than a battle. I wrote to National Council of Sports seeking permission to use Cricket Oval last year September 2022, they responded to the later in February, 2023 but only received it July 2023. My life hasn’t been the same since, I am scared for my life and have been threatened. 20 years of King Micheal, what I am supposed to tell my fans after a year of advertising. I have taken alot of loans for this show to happen.
I met up with my mother and she advised me to get another day and venue. The pain is in loosing over 160 millions Uganda shillings which will never be recovered. All in all they can take the date (September 15) and the venue, but atleast let them spare my life. I am stressed and depressed. I apologize to my fans who were expecting me at Cricket Oval and Luwero on the September 15 to celebrate 20 years of King Micheal. We will be at Lido beach on September 17th. We shall have a family day. I have alot planned for you."- he said.
