Pallaso Biography

Born September 9th Pius Mayanja popularly known by his stage name Pallaso, is a Ugandan singer, songwriter, record producer who sings in Afro-pop, RnB and Dancehall. He is the Founder and CEO of Team Good Music. With his music in Luganda, English and Swahili.

Pallaso was born to Gelard Mayanja and Prossy Mayanja in Kawempe a division of Kampala. He is a brother to musicians Jose Chameleone aka Joseph Mayanja, Weasel aka Douglas Mayanja the other half of the Goodlyfe Duo the Late AK 47 aka Emmanuel Mayanja and Humphrey Mayanja. He is married to Nicole Hyman with 2 Children.

Music Career

He started singing in his brother Chameleone’s music Group Leone Island where he branded himself Lizard. He later went to United States where he worked in various companies but never gave up the dream of music. While in USA, he resumed music  and produced various songs such as Ready For You ft GNL Zamba, Coming home and Change ft The Mess. In October 2013 he together with The Mess and Uganda’s dynamic duo Radio & Weasel released a collabo titled Amaaso which topped charts in Uganda . These songs helped Pallaso to win the  Best Artist in Diaspora in the Hipipo Music Awards 2014.

He rebranded himself Pallaso and came back to Uganda in 2014 where he joined the Team No Sleep under the management of Jeff Kiwa where he released various songs like Kirabe Embaliga, Very Sorry, Wekoleddewo Kaki and many others.

While in Team No Sleep, he collaborated with Sheebah Karungi and the two released two club bangers titled Mundongo and Go down low which were among the greatest songs in 2014. These songs helped Pallaso as well Sheebah establish themselves as some of the best musicians in the country.

In late 2014, Pallaso collaborated with the Nigerian pop singer Davido and the two produced a song titled Twatoba which was released in February 2015.

Pallaso later left Team No Sleep and started his own music group Team Good music where he s the CEO and in June 2015 he released the first song under the new management titled Kona which was a collabo between him and Spice Diana. Pallaso continued to produce various songs which were successful and in September 2015 Pallaso organized his maiden concert titled Twatoba at Freedom City and the concert was successful.

On October 4,  2015 Pallaso announced that he is yet to make a collabo with 3 great African artists who included Mdee Vanessa from Tanzania and Vector from Nigeria and in 2016 Vector made a remix of Pallaso’s song titled Bubble which became of the best videos in 2016 in Uganda.

Pallaso released his first Album in 2016 titled MAAMA Album named after Maama song, which Pallaso sang, dedicated to his mum. The album made sales all over the world and was availed to market on various music malls including Itunes and Amazon. The Album launch concert was organized at Freedom City in September 2016 and was also a success.

Pallaso has received various nominations, awards and honors in his music life ranging from Uganda Entertainment Awards, Hipipo Awards, Zzina Awards and very many others in the Country. He won Best Artist in Diaspora Hipipo Music Awards 2014, Hottest Collabo in Buzz Teeniez Awards 2014, Teenies award of Teenies flyest video 2014,  Best Afro beat song in Hipipo music awards 2015 and many others. He has collaborated with Various artists including Radio and Weasel, Jose Chameleone, Sheebah Karungi, Spice Diana, Full Figure, Slate Nation (South Sudan), Davido (Nigeria), Vector (Nigeria), Beennie Gunter and many others.
