Juuko Murushid Officially Leaves Express FC After Two Years

Following the recent departures of more than five players at the club, Express FC has also confirmed the departure of senior defender and Uganda Cranes player Murushid Juuko.

A post on their social media handles read: “Express FC and Murushid Part ways. Murushid has been a very good example to everyone..." CEO Isaac Mwegwa.

Juuko joins a list of players that recently left the seven time Uganda Premier League champions who include Mustafa Kiraga,Mahad Yahaya Kakooza, goalkeeper Crispus Kusiima, John Byamukama and Sadiq Ssekiyembe.

Speaking to the club website about his stint at the James Odoch coached side, Juuko had this to say;

“It has been the greatest two years of my stay at the club and in my Career – (The most successful) I may say. I leave with a lot memories and I will surely live to tell them. I leave the club with my chest high for the successes we reached. I thank everyone at the Club from the Top Management, Technical Team, Players, Welfare Team and Most importantly the Fans (Express Nation). Together we did a tremendous job – Mukwano Gwabangi.”

At the club where he spent two years, he guided the Red Eagles to a seventh Uganda Premier League title in the 2020/21 before also guiding the team to CECAFA Kagame Club Championship triumph.

News has it that he is destined for Gadafi FC where he will link up with former Express FC coach Wasswa Bbosa as it has also been reported about the recent departures.

Express FC also renewed the contract of center back Isa Lumu for two more years. He has been with the Wankulukuku based side 2018/2019.

The club so promoted goalkeeper David Lukwago to the senior team following the departure of goalkeeper Crispus Kusiima.
