SC Villa found ways back to winning with a 2:1 victory over Wakiso Giants, a win that followed a 3:1 loss to URA FC in their last Uganda Premier League match .
SC Villa went ahead courtesy of a goal from Fred Gift as early as the 8th minute but the home side leveled matters through Moses Aliro in the 36th to make sure halftime ended all square.
The second half saw Petros Koukouras’ side score the second goal and eventual match winner through Benson Muhindo who scored from the penalty spot at the 60th minute mark to punish Wakiso Giants who had their defender Simon Namwanja given matching orders for indecent playing.
The win gives morale to SC Villa who were threatened by relegation waves and are currently 10th on the table with 25 points, five points above relegation zone with seven matches left to end the season.
At the Arena of visions in Ndejje, URA FC was held to a barren stalemate by league debutants Arua Hills SC. URA FC missed on the chance to create a three point gap above third placed KCCA FC who now have two games in hand. Mbowa Patrick was named Pilsner man of the match following his impressive display on the day.
At Kakindu Stadium in Jinja, home side Busoga United beat Tooro United 1:0. Ntege Anywaru Mustafa scored a 58th minute goal to give the home side a well deserved win. The win saw Busoga United who also handed a debut to Akol Godfrey climb to 11th position level on points with 10th placed side SC Villa (25) but with an inferior goal difference of four.
