The 'Harambe Stars' of Kenya have as usual acted a real stumbling block to Uganda Cranes' quest for a maiden world cup appearances after holding the later to a 1 all draw.

The match played in the evening hours of Thursday 11th November,2021 at the St. Mary's Stadium Kitende saw the visitors lead the match in the 60th minute through Michael Olunga.

Michael Olunga Ogada who plies his trade in World Cup hosts, Qatar's club Al-Duhail opened the scoring but Uganda levelled matters with two minutes left on the clock, to late to push for a winner to clear the Cranes hopes for qualification.

Uganda is left to pray that Rwanda beats Mali in the match to be played later in the day in Kigali Rwanda. If Rwanda beats Mali, Uganda will have to beat Mali in the last match of the second qualification round to get to the third round.

A result rather than a loss by Mali to Rwanda will mean Uganda Cranes' hopes for a qualifying for a maiden World Cup appearance are over.
