Airtel FUFA Awards Draw Nearer, Who Stands More Chances?

Three Vipers SC players were included in the list of Airtel FUFA Awards. They include Aziz Kayondo, Bobosi Byaruhanga and Yunus Ssentamu.

Aziz Kayondo was part of the Uganda U20 team that reached the finals of the 2020 U20 AFCON in Mauritania. Kayondo was named in the best XI of the tournament.

Bobosi Byaruhanga has been vital in Uganda Cranes world cup campaign whereas Yunus Ssentamu's sensational scoring form has seen him also make the nominees list.

The other two players include Express FC's Eric Kambale who's form guided the Red Eagles to a seventh Uganda Premier League title and first since 2012.

URA's captain Shafiq Kagimu was also nominated after his wonderful display helped the club finish second last season and win themselves a slot in the CAF Confederations Cup.

In the women's category, 2 of the 5 nominees in the 2021 Airtel FUFA Female Player of the year , Fazila Ikwaput and Fauzia Najjemba have at one point made it to the final podium of the Awards.

Ikwaput won the Award in 2017 while Najjemba finished 1st runners up behind Juliet Nalukenge in 2019.

The Airtel FUFA Awards will be held on 4th November,2021.
