Critically ill Muhammad Segirinya, the Member of Parliament for Kawempe North, is preparing for a comeback in the 2026 elections. This announcement comes after a term filled with alot of drama and challenges.
Segirinya, who has spent much of his current term navigating the rough waters of imprisonment and battling a mysterious illness, is determined to return to serve his constituents. In a candid interview with a local YouTuber, Segirinya detailed the hurdles he faced, attributing his struggles to what he describes as governmental obstruction.
"For the better part of this term, I’ve been grappling with significant challenges," Segirinya said. "From being beaten and imprisoned to struggling with health issues, my ability to deliver on my promises has been severely hindered. However, my constituents have been vocal about their desire for me to continue representing them, and I am committed to running in the 2026 elections."
Despite his plans to run for re-election, Segirinya has made it clear that this will be his final term. "I’m coming back for one more term, but I will not seek re-election after that. My goal is to serve the people of Kawempe North to the best of my ability during this time," he affirmed.
