Uganda's Joshua Cheptegei has made headlines by winning the country's second Gold Medal in the 5000M race at the on going Tokyo Olympics in Japan.
The reigning World Champion and also record holder for the quickest time posted in the 10000M race rejuvinated from a second position finish recently in the 10000M competition to finish first ahead of Canada’s Ahmed Mohammed and USA’s Chelimo Paul who finished second and third respectively.
He clocked 12:58.15secs to finish top and ensure Uganda gets a second Gold medal in addition to one won by Peruth Chemutai recently in the 3000M steeplechase two days ago.
The win takes Uganda's tally of medals at the Tokyo Olympics to four, Two Gold medals, one silver medal and a bronze won by Jacob Kiplimo.
