Jonathan McKinstry has parted ways with FUFA after an 18 months tenure in charge of the Cranes and during his tenure, he has seen a 67% winning that equivalent to 12 wins, 3 draws and only 3 defeats in the 18 matches he has coached.

FUFA thanked the tactician for his services, this they wrote in their press release...

"We would like to thank Coach McKinstry for the professionalism demonstrated during his employment with FUFA, and we wish him well in all his future endeavours".

For only the second time in their history, Coach McKinstry guided Uganda to victory in the CECAFA Challenge Cup 2019 where Uganda won all of the games contested in.

FUFA confirmed the appointment of Johnathan McKinstry as the Uganda National Team (The Uganda Cranes) head coach for a period of three years on 30th September, 2019.
