Uganda Cranes Loses to Togo, Now Must Win Against Morocco to Stay in CHAN

Uganda Cranes played their second match of the CHAN tournament against Togo in Group C encounter at Stade de la Reunification in Douala-Cameroon on Friday night.

Uganda lost 2:1 to Togo, a side that is participating in its first CHAN tournament and bagged their first maximum points in the tournament history.

Defender Paul Patrick Mbowa had a ball deflect on him into his net to hand Togo the lead before another great goal from Richard Nane with a sweet looping volley that beat goalkeeper Charles Lukwago to double the lead.

Said Kyeyune had levelled matters for the Cranes in the 51st minute with a 35 yard thunderbolt but didn't last as Yendoutie Richard Nane restored Togo's lead six minutes later.

Uganda will say bye to the tournament unless for a win against Morocco in their last group match on Tuesday 26th January 2021. This is Uganda's fifth appearance in the tournament but has won only one of the 14 matches played in the tournament.
