Facebook & Google Playstore Shut Down in Uganda Just Two Days to Elections

Facebook came out and confirmed how it had shut down several pro-Government accounts and now the social media site giant can not be accessed in Uganda unless one has VPN, same applies to Google Playstore that was shut down days ago.

Ugandans that love Facebook were shocked on Tuesday upon waking up to check their pages only to end up getting nonstop erors.

The Uganda Communications Communication has not yet come out to confirm or deny that they had taken action in response to Facebook’s accounts ban a day earlier.

A number of Ugandan government officials and ruling party members had their Facebook accounts shut down Monday as the internet giant accused them of manipulating public debate ahead of key elections.
