The industry has gained international recognition, which has further favoured these musicians. Some of the highest-paid musicians have a net worth of more than $ 6 million.
Uganda is ranked third in Africa as far as entertainment is concerned. Most of her musicians have been able to blend Luganda with other languages, like English or Swahili. This has made it acceptable to a wider audience.

Musician and politician Bobi Wine.
Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, popularly known as Bobi Wine. His current net worth is $ 7.3 million. The musician is also a politician, actor, activist, businessman, and philanthropist. He has released more than 300 songs throughout his career.
He owns One Love Beach on Lake Victoria and a taxi network. Bobi also possesses a yacht, a speedboat and several luxury cars. The musician has been endorsed by several brands such as MTN, Centenary Bank, Lifebank condoms and 'Twaweza. and now as a Politician his fugure is about to skyrocket higher.'
Jose Chameleone.
Chameleone, known for his signature rusty voice, is married to Daniella Atim. The artist owns a music label called Leone Island. So far, Chameleone has over 12 albums. He made history in March 2014 at the ''Tubonge Live" concert held at the Lugogo Cricket Oval.
At the concert, he hosted an audience of 40,000 which is the largest that any East African performer has ever drawn. Presently, Chameleone boasts a net worth of $ 6 million. He owns a luxurious residential flat in Seguku.
Other investments include; Daniella apartments, Coco Beach, Chameleone phones (in partnership with a Chinese company), Leone TV which he just started up, DNA Bar, among others. Some of the countries where this artiste has performed are USA, UK, Sweden and Belgium.
Bebe Cool.
Moses Ssali, known to many as Bebe Cool, is married to Zuena Kirema. His music style comprises of African fusion, reggae and ragga. The musician has investments in music and real estate. He owns several cars, apartments and plots of land.
Bebe is also the proprietor of Gagamel Music label and is an ambassador for the Uganda Cranes. Other endorsements include Coke Studio Africa and Airtel. Bebe's net worth is $ 2.6 million. He owns a fully equipped sound system, complete with a band and lighting which has been used in some of the biggest events in Uganda.
He has a residential house in Ntinda, and apartments in Kiwatule. Bebe drives a Hummer but also owns several other cars. He is a philanthropist who is a major financier for Katalemwa Charity Home, and also engages in activities to raise funds for cancer treatment and kidney transplants.
Ragga Dee.
Daniel Kazibwe, famously known as Ragga Dee, is among the richest male artist in Uganda. The 47-year-old is married to a Mariam Kazibwe, and they have four children. Apart from music, the singer is also a businessman and a politician.
In 2016, he contested for the mayoral seat in Kampala but was not successful. Ragga Dee's net worth is worth $ 4 million, and so far, he has 18 albums to his name. The artist was among the first musicians in Uganda to buy a Hummer, in the year 2006.
He owns a beach at the shore of Lake Victoria and has invested in real estate. More so, Dee deals with importation of cars and car hire. His residential mansion is in Makindye, Kampala and his record label is called Buggie Empire.
Mesach Semakula.
Mesach is a God-fearing Afro-pop musician and businessman. He was born in 1976 in Buwaate village, Wakisio District. The musician ventured into music in 1993, while still in high school. He tried his hand at an audition by Umar Katumba but did not succeed.
Mesach has over 50 songs, and more than 6 albums. He owns Kann Studio and is also one of the top directors of Golden Studio. He has invested in real estate and owns a hotel, apartments and parcels of land across the country. His net worth is $560,000.
Ronald Mayinja.
Ronald is a singer, songwriter, husband, father, politician and businessman. He was born on 9th November 1978 in Mpenja, Gomba District. The sweet-voiced singer is married to Aisha Nakyeyune, and they have three children together. They also have other children from other relationships.
Ronald owns Roma Hotel, Roma Hardware, two houses in Lukuli Nanganda and several plots of land. He also owns lorries hired to transport cargo. His net worth is $554,000. It is rumoured that he is currently facing financial struggles, with some of his property being seized by creditors.
Geoffrey Lutaaya.
Geoffrey schooled at Mitti Ebiri Primary School, and Mbuye Primary School then went on to Kololo High School. He did not sit for his O' Level examinations because he ventured into music. It was not until 2018 that the singer sat for his O' Level examinations., and his A' Levels in 2019.
The artist was initially part of Bakayimbira Dramactors in 1997. While here, he met Ronald Mayinja and the two started Gebris band. He later transitioned to Diamond Production and afterwards formed Eagles Production alongside Mesach Ssemakula, Ronald Mayinja and Fred Mayiso.
The musician now co-owns De New Eagles band with his wife, Irene Namatovu. His net worth is estimated to be $350,000. Besides music, he is into the hospitality business and owns several properties, including two motels, one hotel and a club. He also has several pieces of land and owns a lavish home in Munyonyo.
Grace Nakimera
Grace is the richest female musician in Uganda. She is a mother, musician and business person. The songstress is married to Andre Ringen, a photographer, and they have one daughter together.
The musician's big break came in 2004 after she released ''Ani AKumanyi.'' She co-produces most of her songs with her brother, DJ Junior. She is a big performer known for her vibrance on stage. Grace Nakimera drives a Prado and owns Pinky Salon in Kampala.
She is also a landowner, with plots in various towns. Her wealth is inherited, but she is also an astute entrepreneur who is into agriculture and real estate. All these investments have played their part in making her the richest female artists in Uganda. Her net worth is $320,000.
