Uganda Hippos Win the CECAFA U-20 AFCON Zonal Qualifiers after Beating Tanzania 4:1

The U-20 Uganda national team called the "Hippos" have on Wednesday 2nd December, 2020 won the CECAFA U-20 AFCON Zonal qualifiers tournament with a 4:1 thrashing of Tanzania.

FUFA posted on their social media platforms:

Bogere Ivan added to his four goals that saw him win the Fortbet real award player of the month accolade, bringing his tally to five and hence finished as the tournament topscorer.

Uganda also qualified for the major AFCON U-20 Championship slated to take place in Mauritania next year between February and March when they reached the finals.

Eng. Moses Magogo, the FUFA president assured the Hippos $300 bonus if they win the tournament and by the fact that they've won, they (Hippos) will pocket $1000 having also been assured of $700 for making it to the finals in Mauritania.

Uganda is also the defending champion of CECAFA tournaments which include for U-15 (Boys), U-17 (Boys and Girls), U-20 (men), Uganda Cranes have the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup, and also KCCA FC have the Kagame Club Cup championship.
