After a full week of crying, cursing and threatening, blogger Ashburg Katto is now the happiest man in the country after receiving fully his cows that were given to him by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

Ashburg shared good news on Monday afternoon to his 140,000 followers on Facebook confirming that he’s fully in ownership of the cows thanking people who have helped him in this deserving battle to secure his gift from Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

“My cows have finally landed in my hands. I can authoritatively confirm. Praise be to Allah (the most high)” – Ashburg asserted “Let me also take this opportunity to inform the President that finally the herdsman delivered and the cows are in good health. I promise to use the knowledge about farming that I learnt from you to yield more and prosper.”

How did we get here?

In February 2020, Ashraf Katto popularly known as Ashburg Katto, Ray Supasta and the late Nabaasa Rodgers Ronnie led by Balaam Barugahara Ateenyi visited President Museveni at his farm in Kisozi. At the time of the visit, Ashburg was a self appointed chief blogger of Robert Kyagulanyi’s People Power the precursor of National Unity Platform, Ray Supasta was also a strong supporter of Kyagulanyi while Nabaasa Ronnie was by then a Western Uganda Regional coordinator of People Power.

The trio after their fruitful visit to president’s farm and agreeing to change allegiance from Bobi Wine’s People Power to Museveni’s NRM, they were given a gift of 5 cows each. Ronnie who died in an accident on Masaka Road two weeks back was the first to declare having crossed from People Power to NRM in March 2020 followed by Ashburg and Supasta in May 2020.

Ashburg says that he received a phone call from a person who told him that his pledge from the president has been released and cows were being sent from Museveni’s farm to Kampala where he was to receive them within a day. Unfortunately, days passed and then weeks before he could hear anything from the person who called him or any other person.

On calling back, the very same person denied any knowledge about the cows from the president. It was at this point that Ashburg suspected that the cows were taken away by some state house officials who intended to divert them for their own use. Ashburg at first remained calm hoping to fulfill the required formalities and sign for the cows but it was all in vain.

On October 21, 2020, Ashburg finally opened a social media war asking for his cows promising to expose everyone who was responsible for taking his cows. It was after this social media war that his cows were released.

Who was the ‘Mulaalo’ that took Ashburg Katto Cows?

When Ashburg opened a war, he never mentioned the person who was responsible for the taking his cows. He only described that person as a ‘Mulaalo’.

The person that was the first suspect was Balaam Barugahara Ateenyi a business proprietor that now acts a link between people from entertainment industry and the State House. That very day that Ashburg posted complaining about his cows, Bajjo had posted on Social Media abusing Balaam and calling him a hypocrite and a jealousy person, later in the day, Catherine Kusasira also made a video abusing Balaam. It was this very reason that people thought that it is Balaam- the Muraaro who took Ashburg Katto’s cows. Ashburg Katto however went on to clear Balaam’s name saying that he’s now the one responsible.

Ashburg went on to give clues about the person who took his cows saying that person works in the State House office at Okello House and went to give description of the person who took his cows as a female not a male. Ashburg however restrained himself from mentioning her names.

“You are a rich woman, you are trusted to handle President Museveni’s pledges, I don’t know why you are keeping my few cows” Ashburg was heard lamenting in a video.

Ashburg’s cows were not the first pledge given by the president and released but never reached the hands of the intended person. In 2019, President Museveni attended Sam Bagenda aka Dr. Bbosa’s show as he celebrated 33 years in the entertainment industry and promised him 100M Shs in support. However Dr. Bbosa is yet to receive that pledge.

With Ashburg Katto’s cows being vomited, other people whose pledges have been never reached them now have a person to consult and see how to get what legally belongs to them.
