SC Villa on Friday 13th September, 2019 won 1:0 away to Express FC in one of Uganda's long standing club football rivalries at Betway Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.

SC Villa scored through experienced Ambrose Kirya in the 72nd minute to maintain the Jogos' status quo at the table summit.

The Jogos came into the match after getting three points and three goals from the FUFA competitions disciplinary panel over Proline's failure to honor their weekend fixtures against the Jogos.

The result on Friday 13th September, means they top the table with 10 points and a goal difference of five.

The match looked a balanced one with SC Villa with possessing most of the second half but Express FC also threatening to score against the visitors on some occasions and stood a chance of leading the match but Villa's goalkeeper Keni kept a clean sheet.

It was SC Villa's third win in five matches with one draw while to Express, it was the third loss of the season in five matches with one win and a draw.

Express FC alias Mukwano Gw'abangi or the "Red Army" through their coach George Ssimwogerere named an unchanged side that beat Mbarara City 3:2 in their most recent fixture but could not afford a point against the record league Champions.

The result means Villa SC have now not lost to the Wankulukuku based side in the last three matches. Villa won 2:0 in the league at home last season and drew 1:1 away.

SC Villa will be back in action on Wednesday 2nd October, 2019 hosting SC Vipers at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole as Express FC will pay a visit to Lugogo for a fixture against Proline on Tuesday 1st October 2019.
