Wakiso Giants who are also known as "The Purple Sharks" have on Monday 20th July, 2020 announced new signing in Satro Edward. The gigantic center back penned a three year contract with the option of extending it for another year at "The Pride of Wakiso.
After the deal was triggered, the club went to their website to announce:
"Wakiso Giants is delighted to announce the signing of central defender Edward Satulo alias Satro on a three-year contract until 2023 with an option for extension for a further year".
The defender expressed his gratitude too: “It’s a big step in my career and it couldn’t come at a better time and club. I have won everything in Masaza Cup and feel ready for the challenge in the top division. I am still learning and believe am at the right place to continue my development as a player at an ambitious young club like Giants.
“I know what a tough challenge it is but with the coaches, teammates and fans behind the team, I will do well.”
Satro Edward won the Masaza cup with Gomba (2017) and Singo (2018) but was also part of the Gomba squad that lost in the finals to Buddu in 2016.
His experience will be much needed by the side ahead of their seceond season in the top flight.
He becomes the third signing for the Douglas Bamweyana coached side after they earlier announced Pius Kaggwa from Bright Stars and Ibrahim "Owen" Kasule another Masaza cup product from Buddu team.
Wakiso Giants finished 10th in the 2020/2021 with 30 points fron 8 wins, 6 draws and 11 losses. The new 2020/2021 season is set to kick off on 17th July, 2020 as set by the FUFA executive given nomalcy is restored in the country.
