The club ascertains, Mubiru has a wealthy of sports management coupled with a broad knowledge of football that will help revive and strengthen their reputation within the general football community.

Villa Jogo has suffered from lack of leadership since Eng.Ben Missaga quit the club a year ago.

During Misagga's regime, Villa had rejuvenated, winning the Uganda Cup in 2015 plus competing tightly on the league title with Vipers SC and KCCA FC in the seasons 2016/2017 and 2017/2018.

Villa are thirsty for a league title since 2004 when they won with coach Milutin Sredojević "Micho" and Captain Edgar Watson.

The arrival of Shawn Mubiru comes at a time when the Jogos are having an average performance with one win, one draw and a loss in three matches. Settling for an eighth position.

The club narrowly survived relegation last season and his appointment means he is entitled to sorting among others sorting the administrative problems that have seemed the biggest hindrance to club's success.
