The organising committee of the 2020 Bika Bya Baganda tournament has revealed that this year's tournament will kick off immediately after the COVID-19 lock down is lifted.

Speaking to the Press, the organising committee chairman Hajji Sulaiman Magala asserted that the opening match shall be played at Bulemeezi's renovated Kasana Play Ground and as it is the case, His Majesty the Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II will grace the tournament's opening ceremonies.

The Chairman also hinted on the four grounds to host the rest of tournament's matches which included: Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium, Muteesa II Stadium-Wankulukuku, Lubiri Secondary School playground and IUIU Girls Campus – Kabojja.

Unlike the Masaza cup tournament also organised by Buganda Kingdom, the Bika Bya Baganda one of the oldest tournament in the country having started in 1950 has not attracted people's attention. This is to some extent attributed to the tournament being confined in a portion i.e Kampala only and many other parts are left aside.

Three time champions Mbogo clan are the defending Champions having defeated Kkobe clan 1:0 in the finals played at Masaka Recreation Grounda-Masaka last year.
