COVID-19: Uganda confirms more 8 new CoronaVirus victims

The Ministry of Health Uganda has confirmed more 8 cases of Coronavirus Disease 19 bringing the number of confirmed patients to 9. The confirmed cases are all Ugandan citizens who had travelled from Dubai recently.

The 8 cases were got out the 35 samples that were tested on Monday 23rd of whom 6 of the eight had travelled with Patient Zero (Uganda’s first case) on Ethiopian Airlines on March 22nd 2020, and were isolated at the airport however the two more patients had travelled with Emirates Airlines on March 20, 2020 and were not contained in the institutional quarantine but were rather gotten from home in their self isolation places.

The Minister of health Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng said that the first patient is currently under medication in a stable condition and he asked all people who visited Dubai in the last 2 weeks to voluntarily invite Ministry of Health officials and get tested before infecting others.

The minister asked the public to remain calm and vigilant and to report any cases of suspected cases of people with symptoms resembling those coronavirus.
