Proline FC and Kitala into Uganda Cup quarter finals with respective wins over Kiboga young and Tooro United

Proline’s hopes of defending their maiden Uganda Cup title won last were kept alive on Saturday 14th March,2020 as Diego Hamis Kiiza’s lone strike handed the Yellow and Purple striped side a deserved win at Mbale Municipal Grounds. Diego Hamis Kiiza had earlier in the game missed a penalty.

In Fort Portal at St. Paul National Major Seminary, home side Tooro United was humbled by big league side Kitala with a 1:0 scoreline. Kitala FC and defending champions Proline FC now join joint record champions KCCA FC , Light SS and Kyetume FC in the last eight. Kyetume were 5:4 post match penalty winners over Maroons after a 1:1 normal time stalemate played at The mighty Arena in Jinja on Friday 13th March whilst Light SS ejected UPDF with a 1:0 score on the same day.

KCCA FC were the first quarter finalists with a 1:0 edge over Dove FC at Katushabe Play ground in Masindi on Thursday 12th March,2020.

Action continues on Sunday 15th March, 2020 with a single as Kataka FC host Frees Stars.

Uganda Cup winners are guaranteed a berth in the CAF Confederation Cup and defending Champions Proline FC were the country’s representatives last year but fell out on the last huddle to the group stages of Africa’s second most prestigious club trophy.
