Four (4) Suspected Corona Virus Cases Being Isolated in Entebbe, Ugandans Panic

The Ministry of Health Uganda is currently isolating four people at Entebbe Regional Referral Hospital after showing signs similar to symptoms of Corona Virus COVID19. The isolated people are 4 foreign nationals who were picked from Entebbe International Airport after being seen by the surveillance team with cough and flu the key symptoms of the epidemic that broke out late last year in Wuhan city, Hubei Province of China.

Samples were taken from patients and are currently being tested at Uganda Virus Research Institute with results expected to be out soon to know whether they test positive or Negative.

“Samples have been collected and are being tested at Uganda Virus Research Institute (UVRI)” part of the press release from Ministry of Health read.

Corona Virus has so far spread to more than 47 countries where it has registered over 89,000 confirmed patients of which an excess of 3,000 have died and more than 42,000 have fully recovered. China remains the leading country with 80,026 confirmed cases and 2,912 death followed by South Korea with 4,212 cases, Italy with 1,694, Iran with 978 and Japan with 706 cases.

Africa has only registered only three cases with one in Egypt who fully recovered, one in Algeria and another one in Nigeria. Uganda has so far no registered Corona Virus case just like the rest of East African countries.

“As of today, Uganda has NO confirmed case of Coronavirus Disease (COVID19)” Said the Ministry as they asked Ugandans to remain calm and follow the preventive measures issued by the Ministry of Health.
