Another people power activist shot dead in Nansana by Uganda Police

A people power supporter identified as Daniel Kyeyune has been short dead by Uganda Police Force at Masitowa Nansana following a brawl between people power supporters and a force of Uganda Police with the Local Defense Unit (LDU).

People Power supporters were coming from the burial of their comrade Ritah Nabukenya, who was allegedly ran over by a Police car at Nakawa Market yesterday on February 24th, though the police is still denying its involvement in Ritah’s accident.

Uganda Police force acknowledged the shooting though claims that they have not yet established the motive behind the shooting and did not avail any details of the shot person whom they said is currently at Mulago Hospital for a postmortem.

“Police in Nasana has registered an incident of murder by shooting around Masitowa, Nansana” Police said in a post released on Social Media “The motive of the shooting is not yet established. However, the body of the victim has been taken to city mortuary Mulago”

Police also said that their officers was hit by car and sustained serious injuries in what they termed as ‘hit and run accident’ and the officer is currently admitted at Mulago Hospital with serious injuries.
