Hat-trick hero Onyai Raymond and a brace from Brian Aheebwa inspired Mbarara city to the massive win with a single strike from each of Okwalinga Solomon, Otii Ronald, Makweth Wol and Magandazi Ibrahim sealing the win.
Paul Kiwanuka's side Bright Stars playing at home, Kavumba recreation ground, bowed out of the tournament after losing 4:3 in the penalty shootouts following a goalless draw in normal time.
At Katushabe grounds in Masindi, Dove FC also edged past Water FC with a 2:1 win to progress to the round.
