Vipers SC Forward Paul Mucureezi Celebrates Birthday Today

Uganda Cranes and Vipers' midfielder cum forward Paul Mucureezi celebrates his 27th birthday today 11th February, 2020 having been born on the same date in 1993.

Born in Ntungamo, the 5ft and 6 inch midfielder has played for the now defunct Mutundwa Lions FC (2014-2015), KCCA FC (2015-2018), Mbarara City (2019- Jan 2020) and is currently plying his trade for three time Uganda Premier League champions Vipers who he joined as a free agent in January 2020 transfer window having had his contract with the Mbarara side expired.

Paul Mucureezi is well remembered for his outstanding display for Uganda Cranes in July 2017 when he scored four goals as Uganda beat South Sudan 5:1 in the Championship of African Nations first round return leg qualifier at the StarTimes Stadium. The other goal was scored by Derrick Nsibambi.

His goals helped Uganda to advance to the second round of qualification where the Cranes faced Rwanda. In Uganda football, he is joined by Andrew Fimbo Mukasa who also celebrates his birthday today.

The striking sensation is one of the Country's most prolific strikers Ugandan football has ever witnessed, winning the country's top scorer's boot on two consecutive occasions for SC Villa, scoring 45 goals and 27 goals in 1999 and 2000 respectively.

The other international football players born on 11th February include Arsenal's Lucas Torreira (23 years), Napoli's Jose Callejon (32 years), Raphael Van der Vaart, Javier Aquino, Ricardo Pereira, Jonathan Tah, Nick Bamby, Steve McManaman mention but a few.
