President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has, on Monday evening, given a seed of UGX 120 Million to the Quiin Abenakyo Foundation, the organization founded by Former Miss Uganda 2018 Quiin Abenakyo.

The president gave this donation at the fundraising dinner which was also the official launching day of the organization at Sheraton Kampala Hotel. The organization looks forward to fighting child marriages and teen pregnancy which are the key causes of school dropouts among girls.

In attendance were various guests who included the Speaker of the Parliament of Uganda, Rebecca Kadaga who said that she’s happy to associate with a focused youth Abenakyo, the queen consort of Buganda Nabagereka Sylivia Nagginda and many others.

While contesting for Miss World title China last year, Quiin Abenakyo noted that Uganda has high levels of early marriages and teen pregnancies, vices that she promised to fight once she gets a platform.

“Teenage pregnancies and child marriages are exacerbated by endless school charges, at the behest of PTAs.” President Museveni said in his speech.
