After teasing us with two singles—Circumference and Motivation—and the launching of the Motivation Week, Bebe Cool just took things a notch higher during a TikTok Live with some of Uganda’s top TikTokers, when he finally dropped the release date for his album.
His highly-anticipated album Break The Chains officially drops on Friday, May 30th, 2025.
This project isn’t just another album. It’s Bebe Cool stepping into a whole new lane, blending his classic sound with the global wave of Afrobeats—and bringing a whole lot of realness with it.
When he dropped Circumference, fans were shook (in a good way) because it was a side of Bebe Cool we hadn’t seen before. Different vibe, same legend.
Bebe Cool explained that the shift was necessary. With Afrobeats running the African sound right now, it made sense to evolve—and he’s bringing some homegrown heat with him too, tapping into talents like Joshua Baraka.
During the TikTok Live, he didn’t hold back.
He talked about how a lot of Ugandan artists have stayed in their comfort zones, missing out on global waves. But Break The Chains? It’s about smashing that ceiling and proving Uganda belongs at the world’s music table.
“Break the Chains is about cracking the glass ceiling to take Ugandan music to the tables most local artists believe we’re not welcome,” Bebe Cool said.
And let’s be honest, if there’s someone who can do it, it’s him.
His last album Go Mama got him continental recognition with nominations at the MTV Africa Music Awards, Channel O Awards, and Kora Awards. Plus, Love You Everyday is still making waves, with over 5.5 million Spotify streams and 14 million YouTube views.
