The estate administrators of the late Kadongo Kamu legend Job Paul Kafeero have served Gravity Omutujju with an intention to sue over copyright infringement related to the song "Walumbe Zaaya" and they want UGx. 2Billion.

Through their legal representatives, Libirige & Co. Advocates, the administrators allege that in 2012, Gravity Omutujju, along with Pitaxon and producer Rinex under Big Talent, remixed, recorded, and performed the song without authorization from Kafeero’s family.

Key Allegations:

  • The remix video on Gravity’s YouTube channel contains audio, beats, lyrics, and voices of the late Kafeero without consent.
  • The act constitutes a violation of copyright laws, including:
    • Moral and Economic Rights Infringement
    • Unauthorized reproduction and adaptation
    • Unlawful commercial exploitation of Kafeero’s work

Gravity Omutujju has been ordered to:

  1. Stop performing, distributing, or exploiting the song in any form.
  2. Remove the song from all music platforms.
  3. Pay all proceeds earned from the song to Kafeero’s family, with a full accountability report.
  4. Compensate the family with UGX 2 billion in general damages.

Failure to comply within five days will result in legal action at the rapper’s expense.
